City staff presented a draft amendment to Section 7.2 of the zoning code addressing walls, fences and hedges. The draft proposes lowering the maximum front‑yard fence height to 4 feet (measured from the street crown), allowing up to 8 feet in rear or interior yards to increase privacy, and clarifying corner‑lot and side‑street rules; it also suggests an option to require taller fences to be set back a short distance from the sidewalk to preserve a planting strip.
