Comprehensive plan action delayed until zoning-code amendment and ZBA review
The committee deferred action on the City of Byron comprehensive plan because state statute requires review by a planning commission; the City lacks a standalone planning commission and must amend the zoning code to assign those duties to the ZBA. The Administrative Committee did not act on the City of Byron comprehensive plan after Attorney Aaron Szeto explained state law requires a planning commission review. Szeto told the committee that "a comprehensive plan must be reviewed by a planning commission by statute. The City does not have a standalone planning commission." Administrator Patricia Diduch said no action was needed at this meeting.
