Van Meter approves 28E road-improvement agreement with Dallas County

The Van Meter City Council adopted Resolution #2025-41 on March 10, 2025, authorizing execution of a 28E intergovernmental agreement with Dallas County for multiple road-improvement projects including widening, resurfacing, grading and bridge repairs. Councilmember Quin Pelz raised initial concerns about work in unincorporated Dallas County but said he ultimately saw "the overall benefits of the projects;" Councilmember Blake Grolmus concurred while Councilmember Travis Brott continued to express reservations about the extent of some project elements. The motion passed on a roll-call vote of YES (3), NO (0), ABSTAIN (0), ABSENT (2).
