County Engineer Mr. Church updated commissioners on multiple infrastructure schedules, flagging permit processing delays linked to a recent federal shutdown. He said surveys have been completed in some cases but that U.S. Coast Guard permit processing is delayed; for the 96th Street bascule replacement the issuance of a permit is now expected around Sept. 1, which in turn pushes projected construction start dates by approximately one year (estimated construction start September 2027).
