Council accepted $146,837 CAP Metro grant for Starbus scheduling software; implementation targeted for November

Staff reported the council accepted a $146,837 CAP Metro grant to purchase scheduling software for the Starbus; staff narrowed vendors to two (estimated $6,000 implementation, $2,000 annual) and targeted mid- to late-November implementation with a small customer focus group.

Matthew Wright, the commission's staff liaison, presented September Starbus ridership statistics (21 service days, 158 riders, 150 trips) and told the commission that the city accepted a CAP Metro grant to support scheduling software for Starbus. "Council did accept at their last council meeting a 146,837, CAP Metro grant for scheduling software for the Star Bus, and that's for a 3 year period," he said, and staff have narrowed options to two vendors with estimated costs of about $6,000 to implement and roughly $2,000 in recurring annual costs.
