At the June 20 commission meeting SEK Recycling Center listed the household hazardous waste materials it accepts, noted which items are free to county residents, and described variable processing fees and a $50 annual resident discount. The center said some items (like latex paint) could be redirected to simpler disposal methods.

SEK Recycling Center detailed a broad list of household hazardous waste (HHW) materials it accepts and clarified which items carry no charge for residents. The center’s representative read an itemized list that included household cleaners, automotive fluids, paints, pesticides, mercury and, at no charge, car batteries, rechargeable batteries, used motor oil, used cooking oil and fluorescent bulbs.
