Borough Manager Michael Hart told the Borough Council on Sept. 11 that the wastewater treatment plant experienced an operational upset on Aug. 23 after “something” entered the system and disrupted the plant’s microbiology. Hart said that plant staff and Ms. Cherry notified the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and that the plant was meeting permit requirements as of Sept. 2, though it was not yet as stable as before the incident.
