Council assigns Piazza Construction as CMAR for Melissa Athletic Complex
After a subcommittee reviewed nine RFQs and interviewed five firms, council accepted a recommendation to assign Piazza Construction as the Construction-Manager-At-Risk for the Melissa Athletic Complex; the next step is GMP negotiation.

The City accepted a joint recommendation from a council/4B Board subcommittee and the Melissa Community and Economic Development Corporation (4B Board) to name Piazza Construction as the Construction-Manager-At-Risk (CMAR) for the Melissa Athletic Complex. Terrell Smith said nine RFQs were received in February 2026 and five firms were interviewed; the subcommittee and the 4B Board recommended Piazza Construction. Council accepted the recommendation and assigned Piazza Construction as CMAR; the city will pursue a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) from the CMAR in the next phase.
