Presenter highlights Grand Rapids staff: 61 fully licensed teachers, 77% hold master’s degrees

The Presenter for the Grand Rapids School District opened a teaching-staff report to the board, saying the district is “fully staffed, fully licensed” and asserting, “So when we enter the school, we have 61 fully licensed teachers, meaning everybody's qualified to teach the subject area.”

The presentation emphasized credentialing and education levels across the high school and district. The Presenter said the district’s average tenure is “nearly 12 years,” and that “77 percent of our teachers have obtained their master's degree.” Slides and remarks referenced additional certification rates tied to CTE and other specialty credentials and noted that 14 staff are certified to teach at the collegiate level, enabling students to earn credit.
