Commissioners voted to adopt Ordinance 2026-02, a moratorium on data centers in unincorporated areas of Colfax County. During discussion, a commissioner stressed the county recognizes municipal authority and is not attempting to dictate city actions: "we're not telling you what to do — we recognize your authority," a commissioner said while explaining the moratorium applies to unincorporated county lands.
