Public comment at the May 12 meeting included remarks from Cody Wommack urging action on the city’s vacant seat for the Northeast Texas Municipal Water District director. In response, Councilmember Vicki Smith moved to extend the application period for the NETMWD director position, publish notice in the local newspaper, and return the item for consideration at the June regular meeting. Councilmember David Hood seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
