Council approves permits for Labor Fest, fall and Christmas festivals with local street closures
Parks & Recreation secured permits for a parade and three festivals (Labor Fest Sept. 4–5, Fall Festival Oct. 10, Christmas events Dec. 4–5); council clarified partial closures of Church Street, School Street and Courthouse Square and approved the permits.

Parks & Recreation requested town permits for several upcoming community events. The approved schedule includes a parade kickoff on Friday, Sept. 4 at 6:30 p.m., a Labor Festival on Sept. 5 (10 a.m.–3 p.m.) with vendors and live music from The Last Call Band, a Fall Festival on Oct. 10 (10 a.m.–3 p.m.) and the annual Christmas tree lighting and parade Dec. 4–5 with a daytime festival in Courthouse Square.
