The sheriff's office provided an operational jail status report: "Our current maximum jail capacity is 464 inmates," the report said, and jail standards recommend holding roughly 10% open, reducing practical capacity to about 417. The sheriff's reported daily average was 519 with a peak of 530 on the cited date; staff estimated weekly outsourcing costs of about $68,060 this week, with 96 outsourced male inmates currently in Haskell. The report also noted 43 paper-ready inmates (state-funded) who should be funded by the state rather than the county.
