Smithfield Rec Center approves repair spending, long-term decision deferred

Kathy Christiansen told the board the Smithfield Rec Center board met and approved spending in the $3,500–$10,000 range — ultimately close to $9,000 — to repair basketball standards and curtains that had not been serviced in 26 years. She said committee members agreed to postpone any decision about purchasing or changing ownership until a Cache Valley committee formulates a plan for rec centers.
