Senator Allen presented SB 549, which would allow transitional kindergarten (TK) students to attend certain out‑of‑school 'heritage school' programs that offer cultural, language and tradition instruction. Allen said the current minimum age rules can prevent TK children from attending such community programs even when families and providers want them to.
