Mary Mesler, director of student support services, summarized the Belle Plaine Public Schools' American Indian grant program and said it is designed "to scale up and enhance American Indian education programs and initiatives that are culturally and academically tailored to American Indian students." She told the board the American Indian Parent Advisory Council evaluated the 2023-24 year and "decided that progress was made toward achieving goals."
