100 East mostly open; driving-range netting study due next week

Senior Engineer Jonathan Stathis told the council that the south section of the 100 East project, from 625 North to 900 North, is open to traffic, while the remaining north section to Knoll Street remains closed because utility boxes still need relocation by outside utility companies. He said staff has been working with utility companies and expects those relocations "within the next couple of weeks" before the final section can be completed and opened.

Jonathan also described a driving-range netting study the city is conducting to determine the required net height. "We should have the results next week," he said, and cautioned that materials have not been ordered; once materials are available he estimated installation could take about two months, with total completion likely near four months from procurement. Councilmembers asked about trail access alongside the road and timing for change orders tied to private property work along Jay Smith's property.
