Board approves Resource Concepts contracts to scope district parcel development

CFO Terri Willoughby briefed trustees on professional services agreements with Resource Concepts, Inc. to perform preliminary parcel development scoping for district-owned sites. Willoughby said scoping will determine potential costs and whether larger parcels can be subdivided — for example, to separate a museum parcel from a middle school site — and that any actual sale or subdivision would return to the Board for approval.

Trustees asked about the scope, whether appraisals are included (they are not), and how the not-to-exceed clause would be funded. Willoughby said the not-to-exceed amount is part of the consultant's terms, the cost will be paid from the buildings fund, and that the agreement is intended to produce options for the Board rather than authorize a disposition. Adrienne Sawyer asked whether the Playhouse would be affected by a split; Willoughby reiterated scoping does not equate to approval of a sale. The Board approved the agreements by motion, 7-0.
