Tammy, the county Soil & Water presenter, asked the council to sustain a $5,000 annual county match that would increase the competitiveness of a $90,000 Clean Water Indiana grant application aimed at watershed improvements, outreach and free well testing. She cited local water‑safety needs: "There are reportedly 1,339 reported well sites active and abandoned in Owen County," she said, to illustrate the scale of potential demand for testing.
