MIDLAND ISD clarifies transfer timelines and athletic eligibility rules
District staff reviewed transfer application timelines (Apply Midland Feb 8–19; decisions March 1–5; appeals Apr 1–15) and explained UIL previous athletic participation forms (PAPF). Athletic director Wes Torres said incoming freshmen from feeder schools are generally varsity‑eligible on day one; students transferring after 9th grade may require PAPF review and are permitted to play sub‑varsity while that form is pending.
