ZBA approves home-based seamstress business with limits on clients and hours
Kiran Gautam received a special permit to operate a home-based seamstress service from her basement in R-10 zoning, conditioned on appointment-only service, no employees, a single client vehicle at any time and operating hours ending at 7 P.M.

Kiran Gautam told the board she wanted "a small, service-oriented, business in her basement to offer her skills as a seamstress for dress creation and alterations for fashion and cultural dresses," adding she is not doing this for primary income but to help fulfill the need for cultural dress for the area. She said clients would be by appointment, one at a time, and there would be no heavy deliveries.
