Presentation: South End developments could add roughly 500 elementary students, district told

Tom Ellis told the board that completed South End developments could add about 500 K-5 students districtwide and that an Eastview Village redesign raised projected elementary students for that project from about 204 to nearly 400 under updated student generation rates.

Tom Ellis presented the board with a list of South End housing developments and the district's student generation estimates, saying, "So in total, all of those developments, once they're all completed, we would expect another 500 elementary students to decide." He identified Cathcart Crossing (Cathcart Way and Highway 9) as already occupied and described other projects in site-work phases; he explained that the district responds to county development notices and that impact fees are collected when builders apply for permits.
