Board votes at a glance: agenda approved; HSIP, STP and parade use authorized; insurance plan referred

Several formal actions were recorded during the Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting on Aug. 25, 2026. The board approved the published agenda and took the following recorded actions: approval and authorization for the Chairperson to sign Iowa DOT HSIP Agreement No. 5-26-HSIP-SWAP-027 (HSIP funds limited to $98,000); approval and authorization for the Chairperson to sign Iowa DOT STP Agreement No. 5-26-STP-S-007 (funds limited to the lesser of 80% of eligible costs or $1,743,135); approval of a Secondary Road Use Request from Highland High School Student Council for a Sept. 2 homecoming parade; and referral of the County Insurance Committee's premium recommendation back to the Insurance Committee for re-evaluation.
