Representatives from the Humane Society of Washington County asked commissioners to include $10,000 in the 2027 budget to establish a county spay/neuter voucher program. The society proposed 200 vouchers at $50 each, to be administered locally by the Humane Society with participating veterinarians so county dollars would stay in local clinics.
