Developer defends plan; says studies support rezoning, then withdraws remaining filings

Plote Investments representatives told trustees their proposal was supported by studies and would not add a special service area to tax bills; after the board denied the annexation, Plote withdrew its remaining map, variance and plat applications.

Plote Investments representatives addressed resident concerns at the public hearing and asked the board to approve the annexation and related approvals. Ryan Trottier said the developer's review showed there would be "no SSA on the tax bills" and that the "majority of tax dollars goes to the school district and to the Village of Gilberts." Attorney Patrick Brankin characterized the record as containing "professional studies and expert testimony" and argued that the existing zoning was obsolete and that the proposal met the Village Comprehensive Plan.
