Sullivan utilities update: transformer needs, Route 32 repaving and sewer work under way

Commissioners reported progress on electrical and sewer projects: a planned 1,500 kVA transformer (approx. $100,000) for TIF IV, a Route 32 sewer project active on 1200 North with a possible reopening next week, and repaving plans that will widen intersections to accommodate grain trucks.

Commissioner Mike Kirk told the council the line crew is close to finalizing an ERM agreement, completed 35 JULIE locates and finished a lighting project for the splash pad; he said an outage at George and Madison Streets was caused by "an animal." Kirk said TIF IV will need a 1,500 kVA transformer estimated at about $100,000 plus additional materials, and a transformer will be set for the lift station connected to the Route 32 Sewer Project.
