County payroll transition moves forward; Miranda says July 31 run will prove process

Miranda, who is coordinating payroll transition tasks, reported that the county had processed July 17 and July 31 payrolls and that the July 31 entry was being used to validate the journal-entry process into CIC. She told commissioners she had worked with county controller Tony and the vendor to prepare the payroll data, load it and identify adjustments needed to map Paycor fields into the county financial system.

Miranda described a discovered issue in which some employees had multiple pay-rate entries in Paycor, which caused a pay run to revert to a prior rate for one employee; staff corrected the configuration and ran additional pay runs to fix shortfalls. She said the team is also reconciling PTO balances from ADP and working to ensure holiday-pay configuration is consistent so future payrolls can be loaded quickly. "Once we get, you know, this 1st 1 running, we should be able to, develop a process where every payroll, we're getting those in," she said.

Commissioners and staff discussed next steps, including coordinated sessions to complete back-period journal entries and to validate KPERS reports. Miranda requested two-week follow-up updates and said she would continue to work with departmental staff to confirm banking and treasury mappings.
