Sam Smolnisky of Search & Rescue presented a proposal for a Custer County Incident Command Van estimated at $185,000, saying the vehicle would provide cell reception, satellite internet and power options (battery and solar) to support remote incident command posts. EMS Director Steve Esser supported the concept and recommended further research and additional bids; Esser said he would investigate grant funding opportunities.
