Council approves specific-use permit for tattoo studio at 1208 E. Henderson, vote 4–1

The City Council approved a specific-use permit to allow a tattoo studio, Dark Stride Tattoo, to operate in Suite A at 1208 East Henderson Street. Planning staff said the property is zoned regional commercial within the Henderson Street overlay and the applicant proposes appointment-based operations Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 8 p.m., two employees and three stations; five off-street parking spaces will be required. Planning staff noted the request includes a variance from a 300-foot separation requirement because the property backs to a residential district. "The applicant is proposing to operate a tattoo studio in Suite A only to be known as Dark Stride Tattoo," staff said during the presentation.
