Nutter Fort department reports: audit filed, Engine 71 back, ambulance returned and other updates

During the March 24 meeting, Treasurer Leslie Cummings told council the fiscal year 2025 audit is complete and was submitted to state and federal governments the same day; she said the audit documents will be emailed to council by the end of the week. Cummings also said paperwork was filed with the West Virginia Department of Highways and West Virginia State Police for LPR camera installations and that vendor registration for the 2026 Halloween Fall Festival will open April 3, 2026. She reported that a 2024 Ford belonging to the town was declared totaled after additional damage was discovered during repair work.

Fire Chief Jeremy Haddix reported Engine 71 is back in service after refurbishment and reminded the council of the 'Ultimate Giveaway' event on May 9, 2026 at the Nathan Goff Armory. EMS Supervisor Nathan Rohrbough said an ambulance that experienced a near-miss in February has returned to service and that call volume is up. No budgetary votes or staffing decisions were taken during the reports; each item was presented for council information.
