Principal Tomas Sias and Assistant Principal Jenna McArthur described a teacher-resident pilot at Ira Cross Elementary during the Feb. 4 KILLEEN ISD board workshop. They said the program pairs residents with mentor teachers and provides professional development and leadership capacity building while residents serve as substitutes and campus contributors. The program is presented as a pathway for residents to become fully certified classroom teachers.
