Committee approves mini PCs for camera feeds amid questions about Merlin Core licensing

Chairwoman Crowley questioned whether purchase of mini PCs to run Merlin Core camera feeds required a licensing agreement or other legal approval and whether the vendor was on the County’s approved vendor list. Legislative Counsel Heather Abissi said she would look into the licensing and vendor-approval questions. County Auditor Michele Sharkey clarified the item before the Committee was a signature for the purchase of hardware and that the computers would be procured from Amazon, an approved vendor. She also noted the software update was an update to existing software already in use.

The committee approved Fund Transfer 26T174; Chairwoman Crowley asked staff to provide additional clarification about the software licensing and whether the vendor or a license agreement requires separate review.
