Board discusses master drainage plan to enable concentrated hangar development

Board members discussed a proposed master drainage plan from Dibble Engineering that would set airport-wide drainage standards and avoid the need for each builder to provide a separate drainage design. Manager Zach Papp said the prior master plan treated drainage as sheet flow and that the airport needs percolation testing and an updated plan to define hangar footprints and drainage routing.

"If we do a master drainage plan, everything's going to adhere to that … and as long as you're adhering to the master drainage plan, then you don't have to do your each and every individual one," Papp said, explaining how coordinated sheet flow to the south and east would preserve land for construction. The board discussed timing and whether to sign a contract so work could start this year and finish next year.
