Dunkirk introduces sweeping changes to building-permit fees; public hearing set for Dec. 3

The Dunkirk Common Council introduced Local Law No. 2-2024 on Nov. 19 to amend Chapter 15 and add Chapter 31, Article IX to the Dunkirk City Code, updating building-construction fees and permit schedules. The proposed schedules include new formulas such as residential primary-structure fees set at $100 + $0.15 per square foot, new-commercial fees at $200 + $0.45 per square foot, tower and telecommunication fees (special tower new $3,000; co-user on existing tower $1,500), and adjusted fees for roofing, plumbing, inspections and certificates of occupancy.
