Police brief council on Flock license-plate readers; officials emphasize audits and limited data sharing

Police leadership presented the city’s automated license-plate reader (ALPR) program and answered council questions about function, access and oversight. Chief Camp explained the system consists of four cameras at major entry points; he emphasized that the cameras “do not capture faces of the drivers” and that the system captures still images of license plates, time and location to support investigations (stolen vehicles, silver alerts, hit-and-run investigations).
