Panel: expanded care management providers struggling with documentation and payment pressures
Committee members warned that expanded care management (ECM) providers face capacity constraints and documentation requirements that may force some organizations to reduce services or close, potentially increasing demand on county Health and Human Services staff.

Marilyn Mochel told the committee that her understanding is that ECM programs have grown rapidly and that payment and administrative pressures are straining some providers’ ability to deliver services. She warned some ECM organizations “may end up closing their doors” if current conditions continue.
