Pulaski County Quorum Court approves routine resolutions, confirms appointments

The Pulaski County Quorum Court opened its August meeting with formalities, approved the minutes from the prior meeting and accepted a legislative audit for 2024 that reported no findings. The court then proceeded through several routine resolutions and appointments.

Madam Clerk read an agenda-committee report recommending due pass on multiple items, and the court confirmed appointments to local boards. The court approved Resolution 26 I 57 appointing a local officiant to solemnize a wedding on Sept. 19, 2026, and later confirmed appointees to the Runyon Acres Fire Protection District and the multipurpose civic center facilities board. Justice Keith moved the community assistance-grant resolution (26 I 59) authorizing the county judge to apply to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission; the clerk recorded the vote as 13 ayes and 1 absent.

In budget business the court adopted Ordinance 26 I 58 to recognize Drug Court Foundation grant funds for the 11th Division Circuit Court. The clerk recorded that ordinance 26 I 58 passed on roll call with 12 ayes and 2 absent. The court also placed Ordinance 26 I 56 (an ordinance to regulate high-intensity digital infrastructure uses) on first reading after approving Amendment 1 to strike its emergency clause.

Members moved quickly through the consent and appointment items; the meeting record shows routine votes and no contested roll-call disputes on those items. The court adjourned after an extended public-comment period later in the evening.
