Commission declines request to permit data centers in Conservancy commercial areas

Developer Troy Mertz told the commission that advisors recommended allowing "Data Centers" as a permissible special use in commercial areas of the Conservancy because some parcels would otherwise have limited retail value. Commissioners questioned whether data centers would be appropriate for the planned commercial parcels and expressed concern about long-term land-use implications.
