Parks & Rec reports summer programs, RC‑club request and community theater idea

A Parks & Recreation representative briefed the council on committee activity following a summer break.

The RC club presented a request to use part of an existing bike route for RC activity; committee members directed the club and Craig Marlow to collaborate on a formal proposal for the council. Heritage Days was described as successful, and staff noted robust community interest in a new 'black field' photo attraction and a popular farm‑stand launched in donated space from Utah State Extension. Committee members also discussed exploratory ideas for community theater (a dinner‑theater concept and a family‑friendly Nutcracker) and plan to recruit a steering committee to pursue low‑cost events and programming.

Council members reminded speakers that non‑agenda items discussed during public comment would not trigger formal policy votes immediately but encouraged proponents to submit proposals if they need council action.

Savannah and other volunteers were credited with much of the outreach; staff and council asked Parks & Rec to return with any funding requests or formal proposals they want the council to consider.
