Madison County commissioners voted on Aug. 18, 2026, to continue consideration of creating a County Administrator position that had been recommended by the Local Government Review Commission. Commissioner William A. Todd moved to continue the matter until after the election; Commissioner Duke W. Gilman seconded the motion, and the board voted unanimously to postpone further action.
