Utility staff reported that a digester cover at the treatment plant imploded while the tank was being prepared for sandblasting and painting, leaving the cover a total loss and requiring removal and scrapping. "So now the cover is imploded, and the cover is a total loss," the utility staff said, describing a sudden failure of the vacuum breaker that was intended to relieve pressure.
