Commissioners supported adding a 'nuisance tree' definition to the revised urban forest ordinance that would allow removal when a tree is causing obvious physical damage to public or private property, such as sidewalks, curbs or foundations. Staff cited an example of a similar definition used in Vancouver’s code and suggested the change would make the ordinance more practical for homeowners.
