At the Dec. 22 work session, Ron Hedgecoke asked the commission to amend the coroner budget by $2,000 to retain an additional deputy coroner and provide 24-hour coverage. Hedgecoke said deputies receive $25 per pay period and must attend annual training; he said the county had maintained two deputy coroners since 2010.
