Developer says closed-loop cooling would use about 15 acre-feet annually; jobs depend on project scale

SiteLayer 4 representatives told the Planning & Zoning Commission the proposed SiteLayer 4 campus would use a closed-loop cooling system with a preliminary consumptive water estimate of about 15 acre-feet per year and could create as many as 300 permanent jobs depending on final scale and commercial agreements.

Blake Marcus, project developer for SiteLayer 4, told the commission the campus concept is a "power‑first" approach that brings on-site generation and a closed-loop cooling system designed to limit consumptive water use. "We currently anticipate about 15 acre feet of water use annually," Marcus said during the presentation.
