Sinking Spring declares disaster emergency over road salt shortage
Council approved a Declaration of Disaster Emergency as a precaution amid a countywide road salt shortage to enable the state to reallocate surplus salt where needed. Council voted 6–0 with one member absent.

Borough Manager Michael Hart proposed a Declaration of Disaster Emergency citing a countywide shortage of road salt. "This will enable the state to come up with some surplus and divvy it out to who needs it," Mr. Hart said when explaining the rationale.
