The Committee of the Whole heard a presentation explaining that cursive will be taught weekly in library for grades 3–5, focusing on lowercase letters in 3rd grade and progressing to full name- and sentence-writing by 5th grade.

The Committee of the Whole heard on Aug. 18 that cursive handwriting will be reintroduced for students in grades 3 through 5 as a weekly component of library instruction. Mrs. Donato, who delivered the update, said Toni Wimmer, the elementary librarian, will teach the lessons while continuing keyboarding and digital citizenship instruction.
