Commissioners Approve Harrison County Airport 20-Year Layout Plan
Harrison County Commissioners on June 25 approved the draft-final Airport Layout Plan (ALP), a 20-year plan that outlines airfield and landside projects, including a short-term $11.6 million safety-focused program and a long-term capital program estimated at $46.7 million.

Chandra Burks, an airport planner with Kaufman Associates, presented the draft-final Airport Layout Plan (ALP) and asked the court to approve the local ALP so it can be submitted to TxDOT Aviation and then the FAA for review and final approval. Burks said the ALP is a 20-year planning document that includes aviation demand forecasts, a critical-aircraft determination and a recommended development concept for the primary and crosswind runways.
