Law enforcement described a stepped-up enforcement plan tied to the new temporary fireworks ban. Lex (law enforcement official) told the council the department plans to deploy two to three extra officers each night from about 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. during the July 2–5 period, with a “zero tolerance approach” for illegal fireworks.
