New Market council cites state code for closed session, adopts certification on return
The council entered a closed session at 5:35 p.m. citing section 2.2-3711(A)(1) to discuss an appointment and, after returning at 6:37 p.m., unanimously adopted a Certification Resolution affirming only the convening motion's listed matters were discussed.

At its May 26 work session the New Market Town Council voted to enter a closed session at 5:35 p.m., citing "section 2.2-3711(A)(1) of the state code" to discuss the hiring or appointment of specific public officers, appointees, or employees. The motion to enter closed session was made by Council member Scott Wymer and seconded by Jon Henry; the roll call was recorded as 4-0 in favor.
