The council voted unanimously to adopt Ordinance 2026-06, which repeals and replaces Chapter 8, Article IV of the City Code regarding Dangerous Buildings and Structures. The ordinance establishes standards for declaring substandard buildings a public nuisance, provides notice procedures for owners and lienholders, sets out hearings and abatement procedures, allows recovery of abatement costs, includes a penalty clause and provides for judicial review; it covers Sections 8-71 through 8-90 of the code.
